At Troup County, daily administrative and executive functions are coordinated in the Board of Commissioners’ office located on the third floor of the Troup County Government Center.
Troup County Government works under a Commission-Manager form of government. The Troup County Board of Commissioners is comprised of a chairman, who is elected in a county-wide election, along with four additional commissioners, each of which are elected from a specific district; all are elected to four-year terms. The Board of Commissioners maintains the primary policy-making for the County, as well as oversees executive functions.
The Board of Commissioners appoints a County Manager who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and executive functions of Troup County. The County Manager supervises policy development, records and financial management, accounts payable, employee benefits and payroll, and public information.
