Roads & Engineering

The Troup County Roads & Engineering Department is dedicated to planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps our community connected and moving safely. The department oversees the maintenance and improvement of County roadways, drainage systems, bridges, and related infrastructure while providing engineering expertise to support responsible growth and development throughout Troup County.

Our mission is to vigorously defend the best interests of the citizens of Troup County in all aspects of civil engineering and infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance.

What We Do

The Roads & Engineering Department provides a wide range of services, including:

• Maintenance and improvement of County roads, bridges, culverts, and drainage systems.
• Engineering design and management of roadway, intersection, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Review of development plans, drainage analyses, and hydrology studies for compliance with County standards.
• Inspection of public infrastructure associated with new development to ensure quality construction and adherence to approved plans.
• Administration and enforcement of erosion, sedimentation, stormwater management, and other environmental regulations.
• Evaluation and acceptance of roads and infrastructure for dedication to Troup County.
• In-house engineering for roadway improvements, culvert replacements, traffic safety enhancements, and other public works projects.

As Troup County continues to grow, the Roads & Engineering Department works closely with developers, contractors, consultants, and the public to ensure infrastructure is designed and constructed in accordance with accepted engineering practices, applicable regulations, and County standards.
