Troup County is committed to conducting business in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws. As required by the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act (O.C.G.A. § 13-10-91), contractors and subcontractors performing work for Troup County may be required to participate in the federal E-Verify program.
E-Verify is an internet-based system administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration that allows employers to verify the employment eligibility of newly hired employees.
Contractor Requirements
Contractors responding to solicitations or entering into contracts with Troup County that are subject to Georgia's E-Verify requirements must:
- Be enrolled in and actively use the federal E-Verify program, if required by law.
- Complete and submit the appropriate Contractor Affidavit with their bid or proposal, when applicable.
- Ensure that all required subcontractor affidavits are obtained and maintained in accordance with state law.
Failure to provide the required documentation may result in a bid or proposal being deemed non-responsive or may affect contract eligibility.
