The Troup County Board of Commissioners is comprised of one chairman, who is elected in a county-wide election, and four commissioners, who are each elected from a specific district, serving four-year terms.

In accordance with O.C.G.A. 50-14-1, the Troup County Board of Commissioners announces changes to the meeting schedule. Regular meetings of the Troup County Board of Commissioners are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the first floor Commission Chambers of the Troup County Government Center, located at 100 Ridley Avenue, LaGrange, Georgia 30240. Regular meetings held on the first Tuesday will begin at 9:00 a.m. and regular meetings held on the third Tuesday will begin at 5:00 p.m. The Board also conducts an informational work session each Thursday which precedes a regular Tuesday meeting. Work sessions are also held in the first floor Commission Chambers of the Troup County Government Center, located at 100 Ridley Avenue, LaGrange, Georgia 30240. The work session preceding the first meeting of the month will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the work session preceding the second meeting of the month will begin at 5:00 p.m. and are open to the public. While the work sessions are generally informational only, if circumstances require it, votes may be taken.
